Join a major player in Polish offshore wind

Ørsted’s journey in Poland started in 1990, long before we had become the global green energy leader we are today. Three decades later, our office in Warsaw serves as a hub for company-wide financial services and IT development, maintenance, and operations. In recent years, we’ve grown rapidly, building a highly effective local team of more than 600 people, which supports Ørsted’s entire global footprint.

In 2021, Ørsted entered a joint venture agreement with PGE (Polish Energy Group), giving us a 50% share in the upcoming Baltica 2 and 3 offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea. With a combined capacity of 2.5 GW, the project will be Poland’s largest offshore wind farm, giving Ørsted an important role in helping meet Poland’s 11 GW offshore wind target. It also means that we’ll be looking to employ more and more people in a wider range of positions in what is now one of our fastest developing markets.

“It’s amazing to see the number of career opportunities and personal development options available at Ørsted in Poland already. But knowing that we’re going to build Poland’s largest offshore wind project, I’d say we’re only just getting started.”

- Michael Prutsch, Head of Portfolio Baltics, Warsaw

“Working at Ørsted is one of the greatest professional experiences one can imagine – you have a feeling of serving a great purpose and contributing to one of the world’s most important current challenges – combating climate change.”

- Marzena Sekul, People and Development, Warsaw

We encourage inclusion of diversity

As in all our locations around the world, in Poland, our workplace is one that supports diversity, and where people are treated fairly. We never discriminate on the basis of personal characteristic in the way we hire, pay, train, promote, or retain our employees. That means you’ll be treated equally regardless of your ethnic background, race, religion, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, outlook, or social status.

If you´ve got the relevant skills and qualifications for one of our open positions in Poland, we want to hear from you - even if you don´t feel like you fit the typical profile.

“Diversity is a fact; inclusion is a choice. And we choose to take those two words as guiding principles as we build our teams, cultivate leaders, and create a company that’s the right fit for every person inside of it. Ørsted is becoming more and more global – we want to reflect that within our walls.”

- Aleksandra Wiśniewska, HR Professional, Finance and IT, Warsaw

Warsaw

Our brand-new office in the landmark Varso complex in central Warsaw boasts stunning views of the capital. It’s the base for all 648 of Poland’s Ørsted employees.

Located next to Warsaw Central railway station and next to the Varso Tower, our new office is well connected to the public transport network – and just 20-30 minutes from Warsaw Chopin airport by train. There are also plenty of bike parking spaces available, making cycling a good transport option. When completed, the Varso Tower will stand at 230 metres as the tallest building in the European Union; and taller than the famous London skyscraper, The Shard.

Roles in our Warsaw office are in the following areas:

  • Finance and controlling
  • IT and digital
  • Procurement
  • Facilities
  • Human resources

In future we will also be recruiting for roles in administration, engineering and construction, operations and technicians, public affairs, regulatory and legal, and strategy and business development. We already have occasional opportunities for SCADA specialists and network engineers, which are listed under open positions along with other roles.

Ørsted’s Danish roots means that we put a high emphasis on mobile and flexible ways of working, excellent work-life balance, and a culture of openness where everyone can thrive, perform, and grow. On top of this, we care about our employees’ physical wellbeing, providing each person with an adjustable desk and access to fitness facilities.

It´s not all work

Every Friday we share a Danish breakfast where everyone can get to know one another in an informal atmosphere. There are plenty of teambuilding, sport, and social activities throughout the year, with beach volleyball being the most popular option in summertime.
