A career in finance and controlling at Ørsted puts you at the heart of a complex and expanding global renewable energy business.

Working with colleagues across our global markets, a career in finance and controlling at Ørsted puts you at the heart of a complex and expanding global renewable energy business.

Whether you join our world-class global tax team, hit the road with investor relations, keep our finances running in financial control or reporting and short-term planning, or support our markets in offshore finance, these kinds of roles give you the opportunity to grow your skills and experience as the company develops. And we expect your ambition to contribute to our success.

Here you can see some example roles.

Global tax

Ørsted’s commitment to sustainability isn’t just about carbon emissions – it’s also about maintaining world-class standards of accuracy and transparency when it comes to tax. This is the responsibility of global tax.

It’s a job that involves knowing different parts of the business really well, in different countries and locations, with a wide variety of stakeholders. We’re involved in big projects and investment decisions at every stage, from setting up the necessary legal structures and tax assumptions to making sure that the right tax is paid at the right time, in a way that is transparent.

Financial controller

Financial controllers report and control monthly financial figures, making sure Ørsted is always following the correct accounting principles. We also support projects with our financial expertise and prepare financial accounts and audit documentation in different countries where Ørsted has a legal entity.

Ørsted is a complex business which is always developing, so there’s always more for a financial controller to learn, and new tasks and projects to get involved in.

Meet Michelle, Senior Business Controller at Ørsted

Investor relations officer

For an investor relations officer, no two days are the same. We work in direct contact with investors and analysts and must have high-level knowledge of the entire business. Most of what we do depends on what happens in the financial and energy markets, what our peers and competitors are up to, and what Ørsted itself communicates externally.

In a normal year, we spend around 20 days travelling to roadshows and conferences, mostly in Europe and North America. And the rest of the time we’re involved in multiple different projects and ways of communicating to the financial market.

Reporting and short-term planning

In reporting and short-term planning, we work closely with top management, presenting them with consolidated financial and non-financial information in a meaningful way that can inform their decision-making.

This role connects us to talented colleagues across the business, while also giving us a perspective from the outside, as we consider how investors and analysts around the world are viewing Ørsted. Our world never stands still – there are always new things happening in our area of work.

Offshore finance

Offshore finance operates at a regional level. Within a specific region, for example Asia-Pacific or North America, we monitor and support local activities while making sure all finance-related processes comply with local regulations.

Our regions cover wide geographical areas, giving us the chance to work in very different markets, each with their own business culture – as well as collaborating with shared functions in Denmark and elsewhere.
